das gleiche prob hab ich nun auch. in meinen use-flags hab ich sowohl samba als auch swat drin, allerdings scheint man samba deswegen nicht zu reemergen müssen.
smbpasswd -a root hab ich auch ausgeführt.
Im log.swat file sieht man jedes mal:
