woran kann das liegen? wenn im kernel der richtige treiber für den controller
gewählt wurde, müssten doch beide platten erkannt werden?!

Den NTFS Treiber hab ich im Kernel mit drin, da bin ich mir sicher.

Wirklich nur read-only? Also muss ich die Platte als FAT formatieren? Oder gibts da andere Möglichkeiten?
Naja bisher wird sie ja nicht mal gefunden...

Es werden doch drei Geräte erkannt. Der Stick, die Karte und die Platte (worauf ja wohl mehrere Partitionen sind).
Meine windos Platte hänge ich unter lunix ja auch nicht immer ein. Steht sie nicht in der fstab bleibt sie doch uneberührt.

Nein ein RAID im Bios ist nicht aktiviert, im Windows wird die zweite Platte ja auch gefunden.
Ist evtl. im BIOS irgend eine "RAID"-Option oder sonst irgend etwas ähnliches aktiv?
Es ist so geregelt dass auf beiden Platten ein Boot Manager läuft, die Systeme wissen nichts voneinander. Will ich ins Windows muss ich beim Start das Boot Device auswählen und eben die andere Platte wählen, standardmäßig wird Gentoo gestartet.
Wie ist bei Dir der Boot-Vorgang eingerichtet? Wo liegt der Bootmanager? (Grub?) Wo liegt die Boot-Partition?

@_Dirk_, wie flore88 weiter oben geschrieben hatte, ist die sdb nicht die gewünschte Platte, sondern ein 16 GB USB-Stick. Dort ist es normal dass die Partitionstabelle nicht gefunden wird, da viele USB-Sticks gar keine haben, sondern über das komplette Device formattiert sind.
